The 2019 Season
ChampionRobert ShwartzmanPREMA Racing

The inaugural season of the unified FIA Formula 3 — born from the merger of GP3 and European Formula 3 — went to Robert Shwartzman. The Russian, a Ferrari junior with PREMA, navigated huge, unpredictable grids and a reversed-grid format with cool intelligence, winning when he could and minimising damage when he couldn't. Marcus Armstrong was his nearest rival in a fiercely competitive field, but Shwartzman's ability to extract points from chaotic races set him apart. The title vaulted him straight to Formula 2 the following year, where he would again be a front-runner.
