Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

F1pedia is an independent, fan-built Formula 1 data explorer. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data. By using F1pedia, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

F1pedia is an independent fan project, not affiliated with Formula 1, FOM, or the FIA. For privacy matters, you can reach us at box@f1pedia.com.

2. Data We Collect

If you do not sign in: we collect anonymous usage analytics only — page views, session duration, and performance metrics. No personally identifiable information is collected or stored. If you sign in: in addition to anonymous analytics, we collect the email address and display name provided by your authentication provider (Google via Firebase Auth), along with any favorites (drivers, teams) and preferences you choose to save. We do not collect payment data, location data, or any data beyond what is listed above.

3. How We Use Your Data

Anonymous analytics are used exclusively to monitor site performance and reliability. Authenticated profile data is used solely to personalize your experience (saved favorites and preferences). We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or any third party for commercial purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

F1pedia relies on the following third-party infrastructure: Firebase Auth (Google) handles authentication and identity management; Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Firestore, BigQuery) and/or Vercel provide hosting and data storage; FastF1, OpenF1 and the Formula 1 live-timing API are public race-data sources. Each of these providers operates under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

5. Data Retention

Anonymous analytics data is retained in aggregated form indefinitely. Authenticated profile data is retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your personal data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Regardless of your location, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your account and associated data; and request a portable export of your profile data. To exercise any of these rights, email box@f1pedia.com. We will respond within 30 days. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom: you may also have rights under GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For users in California: you may have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of its sale (we do not sell personal data).

7. Cookies and Tracking

F1pedia may use cookies or similar technologies strictly for session management and anonymous analytics. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising or cross-site profiling. You can control cookie behavior through your browser settings.

8. Children's Privacy

F1pedia is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at box@f1pedia.com and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of F1pedia after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
