Imola's weekend opened under chaos: torrential overnight rain waterlogged the circuit and forced practice to be cut and rescheduled, though both races were run on slicks. Vips took pole. Drugovich charged from twelfth on the opening lap, eventually taking fifth, while Vips, started from the reverse grid, set fastest lap. The Feature was a strategy masterclass from Pourchaire, who won from seventh on an early-stop plan sealed by safety cars. A start collision between Hauger and Doohan brought the first caution and ended both their races. Vips spun into the gravel, and Nissany, having taken the net lead, crashed at Rivazza to bring a virtual safety car. A final crash for Lawson produced a safety car to the flag. Fittipaldi stormed from fifteenth to second for a podium, with Boschung third, Novalak fourth and Iwasa fifth. Pourchaire reclaimed the championship lead, edging Drugovich by two points.
