The Hungaroring delivered a wet-to-drying classic. Sette Câmara took pole, but championship leader Russell had a clutch problem and started the Feature from the pit lane. In the wet opening phase, Norris was imperious, slicing forward from sixth and building a lead of more than ten seconds. Once the track dried, though, de Vries had the superior pace, reeling Norris in and passing him to win by over sixteen seconds, with Fuoco third. In the closing laps Sette Câmara, pressuring Norris, spun Fuoco in contact and took a ten-second penalty that dropped him to seventh. Russell retired early after his pit-lane start. The Sprint went to Albon. Markelov and Sette Câmara both made poor starts from the front of the reversed grid, letting Ghiotto sweep around the outside into the lead, but Ghiotto's tyres faded in the heat and Albon passed him late to win by around nine seconds. Sette Câmara recovered to third after Fuoco ran into the back of him at a restart. A photo finish saw Fukuzumi edge de Vries by a thousandth for sixth, and Russell climbed from the back to eighth. Norris's results cut Russell's championship lead to twelve points.
