The Story

Austria delivered a strategy duel. Leclerc took pole at the Red Bull Ring, while Sette Câmara was disqualified from qualifying despite the second-fastest lap, reshuffling the grid. PREMA ran Leclerc and Fuoco long on the soft; DAMS started Latifi eighth on super-softs, pitted early and charged back. Leclerc built around seven seconds before his stop and cruised home, but the fight behind was fierce: Fuoco retook second from Rowland at Turn 3, then Latifi demoted Rowland and passed Fuoco late to claim second, with Fuoco third, Rowland fourth and Albon fifth. Nato retired early with a suspension failure. In the Sprint, a first-lap safety car was triggered when a delayed start caught Boschung out and Marciello hit him from behind. The drama then struck PREMA: at Turn 4, Rowland squeezed Fuoco wide, Fuoco stumbled back into team-mate Leclerc, and the points leader spun out, a virtual safety car following to recover his car. Rowland was investigated but escaped penalty. Markelov controlled the restart to win from Albon and Rowland, with Ghiotto fourth. Leclerc's earlier dominance had already pushed his title lead well clear.
