Leclerc took pole at Barcelona after a red-flag-interrupted qualifying, going purple in the final two sectors to edge Ghiotto by around two tenths. In the Feature he locked up early but recovered to control it, while behind him Rowland reeled in Matsushita and passed him with DRS on the main straight. A virtual safety car turned full when Canamasas stopped on track. Leclerc won from Ghiotto and Rowland, with Matsushita, Albon and Latifi completing the top six, and Boschung and Cecotto picked up twenty-second penalties for not slowing under the VSC. The result stretched Leclerc's championship lead toward thirty points. Sunday's Sprint produced the drama. Latifi launched from third to lead into Turn 1, while reverse-grid pole-sitter Markelov got away poorly. A first-lap safety car followed a collision between de Vries and Fuoco that ended both their races. Leading comfortably, Latifi then threw it away, running deep into Turn 5 and skating across the gravel; Matsushita and Rowland streamed past, dropping him to third. Matsushita took the win from Rowland and Latifi, with Leclerc recovering through the field to fourth.
