The Yas Marina finale closed the GP2-era chassis with a flurry of disqualifications. Markelov took pole, with de Vries and Fuoco behind, while Leclerc qualified sixth and Albon was excluded from qualifying for failing to provide a fuel sample, dropping him to the back. Rowland crossed the line first in the Feature, but post-race scrutineering exposed two infringements: Rowland was disqualified for a skid block below the minimum thickness, and Fuoco for front tyres below the minimum pressure. Markelov was promoted to the win, Leclerc to second and Ghiotto to third, with de Vries fourth, Latifi fifth and Matsushita sixth. Albon stormed from twentieth to set the fastest lap. Norris retired with an engine failure. Markelov's win moved him clear in the runner-up battle. In the season-closing Sprint, Leclerc signed off his Formula 2 career in style, coming through from seventh and passing Albon on the final lap to win, Albon second and Latifi third with the fastest lap, ahead of Matsushita and Ghiotto. Markelov's sixth place was enough to confirm him as championship runner-up ahead of Rowland, the curtain falling on the long-serving Dallara and Mecachrome package.
