The Story

Monaco split qualifying into two groups, and the standout was Dunne, who topped Group B and pipped Group A's fastest, Martins, to overall pole by three-thousandths of a second despite earlier contact with Villagómez at the swimming pool. The Sprint went to Maini, lights to flag from reverse-grid pole, ahead of Minì and Browning, who scored a third successive podium; he was promoted to third when Lindblad, third on the road, took a ten-second penalty for colliding with Crawford and fell to eighth, Goethe also penalised. The Feature was carnage from the start: Martins briefly led before colliding with Dunne at Turn 1, triggering a multi-car pile-up and the first red flag that eliminated both plus Verschoor, Minì, Miyata, Martí and Esterson. A second red flag followed after Beganovic crashed, the race ending well short of its planned forty-two laps. With overtaking near impossible at Monaco, the attrition decided everything. Crawford won from Fornaroli and Montoya, the latter promoted to the podium when Lindblad, third on the road again, took a pit-lane speeding penalty. With Dunne's pole turning into a non-finish, Browning emerged as the new championship leader, three clear of Dunne.
