The Story

Monaco's tight streets demanded precision. Qualifying ran in split groups, and the pole picture was reshaped by penalties for yellow-flag infringements, with Drugovich promoted to Feature pole. The Sprint delivered a maiden win for Hauger, who led home Daruvala and Armstrong, with Fittipaldi fourth and Vips fifth. Drugovich's weekend looked set for disaster when he retired around a third distance with a mechanical issue, and Novalak crashed out. Sunday brought redemption. From pole, Drugovich led the 42-lap Feature from lights to flag, though he was made to work. The pivotal safety car came around a third distance when Cordeel stopped on the start-finish straight; as the soft-tyre runners pitted, cars were held while marshals cleared the stranded car, and Drugovich emerged still in front. A second caution disrupted the run to the flag, and a small mistake onto the final lap let Pourchaire close, but Drugovich held on by under a second. Vips took a lonely third ahead of Doohan and Fittipaldi. Lawson retired late with a power loss. The narrow win extended Drugovich's championship cushion and underlined his composure under pressure on the calendar's most unforgiving circuit.
