Torrential overnight and morning rain wrecked Sochi's schedule: standing water forced the first sprint to the afternoon, and with no daylight left around F1 qualifying, organisers cancelled the second sprint entirely, leaving just two races. Piastri took pole ahead of Daruvala and Pourchaire. In the lone Sprint, Ticktum won from the reversed grid ahead of Vips and Shwartzman, with Hughes fourth and Pourchaire setting the fastest lap. The treacherous wet conditions bit before the start: Zhou spun off and did not start, and Drugovich was a non-starter after an accident that left him injured, two damaging blows in the title fight. Lawson and Viscaal both retired from incidents during the race. The Feature was commanded by Piastri from pole, leading home Pourchaire and Daruvala to stretch his championship advantage further. Boschung suffered a late puncture and Vips stopped with a mechanical failure. With two rounds remaining, Piastri held a commanding lead over Zhou, Shwartzman, Ticktum and Pourchaire, the wet weekend leaving his nearest rivals further adrift, and Prema were well clear at the head of the teams' championship.
