The Story

Sakhir delivered drama in both races. Fornaroli took Feature pole, with Dürksen on reverse-grid pole for the Sprint. The Sprint turned on its head twice over: Dürksen crossed the line first on the road but was disqualified for a diffuser strake found out of tolerance, handing the win to Martí, who had charged from eleventh and used DRS into Turn 1 on the final lap to pounce. Verschoor inherited second when Dürksen ran wide, with Beganovic third. Two safety cars punctuated the race, the first after Montoya spun and beached at Turn 1, the second for a stricken Trident; Dunne collected two five-second penalties and tumbled down the order. The Feature was a tidier affair won commandingly by Dunne, his maiden F2 victory, taking the lead from pole-sitter Fornaroli into Turn 1 on lap seven and pulling clear by over eight seconds. Browning made a contrarian soft-tyre stint work to carve back to second ahead of Fornaroli. The results left the championship knotted tight, with Fornaroli, Dunne and Browning separated by a single point.
