Silverstone was decided by the rain. The Sprint began wet behind a rolling start controlled by pole-sitter Antonelli, and within half a lap of the green the safety car was upgraded to a red flag as the rain intensified. After a roughly fourteen-minute suspension the race resumed, and Antonelli charged clear for his maiden F2 victory ahead of Maloney and Maini. The conditions wrecked the title contenders: both Aron and Hadjar retired, Aron with an engine problem and Hadjar beached in the gravel at Copse, with Martí also out after collecting the slowing Aron, and Bearman, Martins and O'Sullivan all retiring later in the treacherous conditions. Bortoleto was demoted for an off-track pass on the last lap. The Feature swung Hadjar's way: Crawford led but took a five-second in-race penalty for an unsafe release, costing him the win to Hadjar, with Maloney second and Crawford holding on for third. Antonelli and Dürksen both retired early from contact. Hadjar's win vaulted him to the championship lead, turning the second half of the season into his title to chase.
