The Story

Imola's Sprint exploded on the opening lap: a multi-car collision at the start eliminated five cars on the spot, with Staněk's contact triggering a pile-up that also caught Hadjar, Dürksen, Fittipaldi and Hauger, bringing out an immediate safety car. At the restart Colapinto fought forward and, on the final lap, swept around the outside of leader Aron at Tamburello to snatch his maiden F2 victory, with Maloney third. The Feature was a tense duel up front. Pole-sitter Bortoleto and Hadjar traded the lead, and Hadjar ultimately held on by just over half a second to win, his second of the year, with Bortoleto second. Dürksen completed the podium in third, a breakthrough result for AIX Racing as the first Paraguayan to stand on an F2 rostrum. Both Cordeel and Martí retired late with loose wheels. The weekend reshaped the order: Maloney stayed top of the standings ahead of Aron, with Hadjar's second win of the year closing him to within striking distance in third and Campos moving to the front of the teams' table.
