Bahrain opened the 2024 season under the new Dallara F2 chassis, and it belonged to Maloney, who swept both races. Bortoleto had qualified second but inherited pole after Maini, the original pacesetter, was disqualified for an undertray violation. In the Sprint, Maloney carved from eighth through the field, using a switchback at Turn 4 to take the lead from Crawford, who held on for second ahead of Martí; an early VSC framed a race split between soft and hard starters, with several drivers ultimately retiring including Barnard with brake trouble. The Feature was chaos from the lights: at Turn 1 Bortoleto and Hadjar collided, beaching Hadjar and bringing out the safety car, with Fittipaldi also eliminated. Bortoleto took a ten-second penalty and front-wing damage, classified fifth. Maloney went the other way on strategy, starting softs and switching late to hards to control the lead, while Martí ran him home for second. Aron, hit with a pit-lane speeding penalty, still recovered from twelfth to a podium in third. Martins suffered a power loss and Crawford stalled out of contention. Maloney's double left him commanding the early standings as the season's clear early benchmark.
