Qualifying at Albert Park ran in torrential rain with red-flag stoppages, and Iwasa mastered it for pole ahead of Pourchaire and Martins. The Sprint brought drama before it even began: Fittipaldi and championship leader Boschung both spun on the way to the grid and did not start. Hauger, from reversed-grid pole, led throughout under pressure from Crawford to take the win, with Maini holding third after a fine three-wide move. A late shower caught out those who fitted wets as the track dried again, and a Doohan spin brought out the safety car. The Feature belonged to Iwasa from pole, leading flag to flag for a DAMS one-three with Leclerc joining him on the podium and Pourchaire splitting them in second. The race was disrupted by multiple safety cars – Crawford crashed early battling Doohan, and Nissany hit the barriers late. Hauger, running third, was tipped into a spin by Martins at the penultimate corner on a restart and retired, promoting Leclerc. Stewards were busy afterwards, with penalties for Stanek, Bearman and Martins. Iwasa surged to the championship lead over Pourchaire and Vesti.
