At the Red Bull Ring, de Vries dominated qualifying for pole ahead of Hubert and Zhou. The Feature became a study in tyre management on a high-degradation track. de Vries started on the softer compound and pitted early, fighting his way back to the front before his rivals stopped — but the early aggression cost his tyres dearly. Matsushita, who had passed Hubert on lap two, and Ghiotto, who leapfrogged Hubert in the pit phase, closed in relentlessly. Matsushita took the lead at Turn 1 and held on to win from Ghiotto, with de Vries fading to third as his tyres gave up. Sette Câmara was penalised for spinning team-mate Latifi early on; Maini was disqualified. In Sunday's Sprint, de Vries briefly led before his pit limiter activated unexpectedly at the exit of Turn 4, dropping him back and handing the lead to Sette Câmara. Delétraz then crashed heavily at Turn 1 to bring out an extended safety car. At the restart Sette Câmara held off Ghiotto to win, with de Vries recovering to third and Schumacher charging through the field to fourth. de Vries led the standings with Sette Câmara now up to third overall.
