Sochi was where de Vries sealed the title. He took pole on a last-gasp lap as rain threatened, then led the Feature from start to finish. Ghiotto ran an offset strategy and charged through, passing Latifi for second and briefly diving ahead of de Vries before the leader pulled clear; on the last lap Ghiotto locked up at the final corner and Delétraz nipped past for third. de Vries's win extended his lead beyond reach, mathematically securing the 2019 championship with rounds to spare. Sunday's Sprint began in alarm: a lap-one incident saw Mazepin and Aitken miss their braking into Turn 2, with Mazepin pitched across the track to collect Matsushita, who hit the barriers hard. Both were taken for precautionary checks, and a lengthy red flag shortened the race to fifteen laps. At the restart Ghiotto held the lead and defended cleanly through a DRS train to win from the newly-crowned champion de Vries, with Ilott third and Latifi fourth. Mazepin was handed a grid penalty for the next round.
