Roman Stanek (born 25 February 2004 in Valasske Mezirici) is a Czech racing driver who spent six seasons in the FIA Formula 3 and Formula 2 championships. He arrived with strong junior credentials, having taken the 2019 ADAC Formula 4 rookie title.
Formula 3
Stanek contested three F3 seasons. In 2020 he joined Charouz Racing System as a late replacement and struggled to score, a tough baptism. He improved with Hitech Grand Prix in 2021, finishing 16th with two podiums across the year. His breakthrough came in 2022 with Trident: one victory, one pole position and four podiums lifted him to fifth in the championship on 117 points, marking him as a genuine F2 prospect.
Formula 2
He stepped up to Formula 2 with Trident in 2023, a difficult rookie campaign finishing 18th with 15 points, brightened by a charge from 22nd to seventh at Monaco. In 2024, again with Trident, he took his maiden F2 victory in Melbourne but left the team mid-season amid budget pressure, ending 22nd. He returned in 2025 with Invicta Racing, where greater consistency and race-winning pace lifted him to a top-ten championship finish.
Across three F2 seasons Stanek showed flashes of front-running speed without ever assembling a sustained title challenge, his career repeatedly shaped by the funding realities that govern the junior categories.
