Reece Ushijima is an American and Japanese racing driver, born in Laguna Hills, California, who contested the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2022.

Background

Ushijima spent his early years between the United States and Japan, first karting in the coastal city of Fukuoka at thirteen. He made his name in British single-seaters, finishing fourth in the GB3 Championship with Hitech Grand Prix on the back of three poles, two wins and seven podiums, and also raced in the 2021 Asian Formula 3 Championship.

Formula 3

He stepped up to FIA Formula 3 for 2022 as Van Amersfoort Racing's first signing for the category, partnering Franco Colapinto and Rafael Villagómez. He showed early promise in post-season testing and ran competitively at points during the year, including topping a practice session at Spa-Francorchamps.
