Oliver Goethe (born 14 October 2004 in London) is a German racing driver — also holding Danish and British nationality, and often called "Danish-German" — and a former Red Bull Junior who reached the FIA Formula 2 Championship after climbing the FIA F3 ladder in the mid-2020s. For 2026 he remains in F2 with MP Motorsport.
The climb
Goethe made his name in junior single-seaters with a dominant 2022 Euroformula Open campaign, winning eleven races on his way to that title after a 2020 Spanish F4 season with MP. The form earned him a Red Bull Junior Team place and his step onto the F3 ladder.
Formula 3
He contested FIA Formula 3 from 2022 to 2024. After a two-round cameo with Campos in 2022, he scored a win at Silverstone with Trident in 2023 (eighth overall), then returned to Campos for 2024, taking a sprint win at Imola for seventh in the standings — a front-of-the-midfield campaign rather than a title challenge (the 2024 F3 crown went to Leonardo Fornaroli).
Formula 2
Goethe earned an early F2 graduation in dramatic fashion: a mid-2024 call-up to MP Motorsport at Monza, stepping into the seat vacated by the F1-bound Franco Colapinto. He stayed with MP for a first full F2 season in 2025, a learning year without podiums. Away from the championship he finished runner-up at the 2024 Macau Grand Prix.
2026 / current season
Goethe continues with MP Motorsport for 2026 — a second full F2 season — partnering championship leader Gabriele Minì. The backdrop is high-stakes: Red Bull parted ways with him ahead of 2026, and he has publicly framed this as a last-chance push toward Formula 1. The early rounds have been mid-table — around 16th–17th with roughly a dozen points after five rounds, including a DNF in Barcelona where he stopped at the start and triggered a safety car. With his junior backing gone and a quick teammate setting the benchmark in the same car, the rest of 2026 is the season Goethe needs to prove he still belongs on the F1 pathway.
