Noel León

Noel Jesús León Vázquez (born 21 December 2004 in Monterrey) is a Mexican racing driver who climbed the junior ladder to the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2026 with Campos Racing, backed throughout by Carlos Slim's Escudería Telmex Telcel.

The climb

León built one of the strongest title résumés of any recent graduate, sweeping regional crowns on his way up: the 2019–20 NACAM Formula 4 title, the 2021 F4 United States Championship, and the 2023 Euroformula Open, which he dominated with Motopark for seven wins. In January 2022 he was briefly added to the Red Bull Junior Team as a supported driver, but the link lasted only a year before he was dropped at the start of 2023.

Formula 3

León stepped up to FIA Formula 3 in 2024 with Van Amersfoort Racing and delivered a strong rookie campaign, taking four podiums and 79 points for tenth in the standings. A switch to PREMA Racing for 2025 was meant to be a step toward the title but proved a tougher year — 17th with two podiums — a frustrating season at a normally front-running team, and one that left questions about his momentum heading into the F2 step.

Formula 2

He was promoted to FIA Formula 2 for 2026 with Campos Racing, lining up alongside Red Bull junior and title contender Nikola Tsolov in what is one of the strongest line-ups on the grid — two race-winners sharing the same garage.

2026 / current season

León has made an immediate impact as a rookie. He took his maiden F2 win in the Montreal Sprint with an impressive fightback drive, then backed it up with a second sprint victory at Monaco — from pole, back-to-back — and added a second place in the Melbourne Sprint. After the Barcelona feature he sits fifth in the standings with 54 points, helping Campos lead the teams' championship. With multiple junior titles already behind him and two early wins on the board, the Monterrey driver has arrived in F2 as one of the more credentialed and immediately competitive recent graduates.
