Matteo Nannini (born 10 July 2003 in Faenza, Italy) is an Italian-Argentine racing driver who raced in both FIA Formula 3 and FIA Formula 2 early in his career. His father is a first cousin of 1989 Japanese Grand Prix winner Alessandro Nannini and singer Gianna Nannini, making Matteo a member of the famous Faenza racing family.
Junior career
Nannini announced himself by winning the 2019 Formula 4 UAE Championship, taking seven wins and 16 podiums from 20 races and beating Joshua Dürksen by 48 points. He also gained experience in Spanish F4, Formula Renault Eurocup and Formula Regional before reaching the FIA championships.
Formula 3
Nannini made his FIA Formula 3 debut in 2020 with Jenzer Motorsport in a difficult campaign. He returned in 2021 with HWA Racelab and improved markedly: he qualified fourth at the Barcelona opener and took his maiden F3 victory in the Budapest sprint, passing Roman Stanek at the start and Enzo Fittipaldi early on to win comfortably. He finished 14th overall with 44 points, the best-placed HWA driver.
Formula 2
In 2021 Nannini attempted the rare feat of contesting F2 and F3 simultaneously with HWA, having opened his F2 account with Campos Racing. In May 2021, after his sponsor ended its support for the F2 programme, he announced he would focus solely on Formula 3, ending his Formula 2 involvement.
After F2/F3
Nannini moved to the United States, racing in Indy NXT (formerly Indy Lights), where he scored a win at Indianapolis in 2023 before parting with Juncos Hollinger Racing. He founded the ENVE Motorsports team in 2025 and returned to Indy NXT competition in 2026 with Cape Motorsports.
