Liam Lawson

Liam Lawson is a New Zealand racing driver and Red Bull junior who reached Formula 1 with the team's Racing Bulls and senior squads. He progressed through the FIA single-seater ladder in Formula 3 (2019–2020) and Formula 2 (2021–2022).

Formula 3

Lawson made his FIA F3 debut in 2019 with MP Motorsport, then moved to Hitech Grand Prix for 2020 alongside Max Fewtrell and Red Bull junior Dennis Hauger. He took three race wins and finished fifth in the standings with 143 points, marking himself out as a genuine prospect.

Formula 2

Lawson stepped up to F2 in 2021 with Hitech, partnering Jüri Vips. He won on debut in the Bahrain sprint but managed only two further podiums to end ninth — while simultaneously running a parallel DTM campaign in which he finished championship runner-up. For 2022 he switched to Carlin alongside Logan Sargeant and produced his strongest season: four wins and six further podiums lifted him to third in the championship with 149 points.

Lawson went on to make Formula 1 starts for Red Bull's junior team and beyond. The grounding's 'Rodin Motorsport' entry reflects the later rebrand of Carlin, his 2022 F2 team.
