James Hedley (born 1 September 2003, Poole, Dorset) is a British racing driver and a member of the BRDC Rising Star programme who made his FIA Formula 3 appearances as a stand-in across 2024 and 2025.
Hedley started karting at age 11 and built his car-racing record largely in British single-seaters, racing in the GB3 Championship with VRD by Arden in 2024. His Formula 3 outings came as substitute appearances rather than full campaigns. In 2024 he deputised for Matias Zagazeta at Jenzer Motorsport for the Monte Carlo round, after Zagazeta needed an emergency appendix procedure. In 2025 he returned for further one-off drives, including with AIX Racing as a replacement, and Van Amersfoort Racing confirmed him for the season-ending round at Monza.
These were short, opportunistic appearances rather than a settled programme, and Hedley did not contest a full F3 season with a single team. His public profile remains that of a young British driver developing through the junior ranks with backing from the BRDC.
