Origins

Gabriele Minì was born on 20 March 2005 in Palermo, Sicily, and grew up in the nearby town of Marineo, the son of a mechanic who steered him toward single-seaters. He began karting in 2012 and collected his first major title, the Italian Championship in the 60 Mini class, in 2017. The early promise carried into cars almost immediately.

Junior Single-Seater Rise

In 2020 Minì dominated the Italian F4 Championship with Prema Powerteam, taking the crown to become the youngest Italian F4 champion to that point. He then stepped up to the Formula Regional European Championship with ART Grand Prix, finishing seventh as a rookie in 2021 before sharpening into a genuine title contender in 2022, when he ended the year runner-up. That progression marked him out as one of Italy's most watched young talents and, from 2023, he became a member of the Alpine Academy.

Formula 3

Minì contested two FIA Formula 3 seasons. In 2023 he raced for Hitech Grand Prix, scoring two wins and placing seventh in the standings. Moving to PREMA Racing for 2024, he was a season-long championship factor, taking a win and five podiums and fighting for the title to the very end before narrowly settling for runner-up in the final-round shootout.

Formula 2

His F2 story began with a cameo: two weeks after the 2024 F3 finale, Minì stepped in at PREMA for the Baku round as a substitute for the F1-bound Oliver Bearman and immediately took a podium, finishing third in the Sprint. He stayed with PREMA for a full rookie campaign in 2025, scoring three podiums and 72 points to finish 13th overall in a learning year.

2026 / current season

For 2026 Minì switched to MP Motorsport, and the move unlocked the form he had been chasing. He took his maiden F2 victory in a three-car fight in the Miami Feature Race and built the most consistent scoring on the grid — the only driver to bank points in every race through the opening stretch. After the Barcelona round (round five, mid-June) he led the Drivers' standings on 86 points, ahead of Nikola Tsolov and Rafael Câmara, with MP Motorsport third in the teams' table. With roughly a third of the calendar run, the title is far from settled, but the combination of one-lap speed and racecraft honed across F4, Formula Regional, F3 and three F2 seasons has finally put the Alpine-backed Sicilian at the front of the field, with Formula 1 the clear next ambition.
