Fernando "Fefo" Barrichello (born 2005) is a Brazilian racing driver and the youngest son of Formula One race winner Rubens Barrichello. He stepped up to the FIA Formula 3 Championship with AIX Racing, debuting at the end of 2025 ahead of a full campaign in 2026.

A famous name

Fernando carries one of Brazilian motorsport's most cherished surnames. His father Rubens won 11 Grands Prix and finished runner-up in the 2002 and 2004 Formula 1 World Championships, while his older brother Eduardo races in GT3 sportscars — a household steeped in racing that shaped Fefo's own ambitions from an early age. Rather than ride the name, he has built his career methodically through the European junior ranks.

Junior career

Barrichello's start was modest: 17th in Spanish F4 in 2023, with just six points across 21 races. The breakthrough came in 2024 in Euroformula Open with Team Motopark, where he finished third in the championship with one win, one fastest lap, five podiums and 264 points, and was the dominant force in the rookie category, sealing the Rookie Championship en route. It was the season that turned a famous-name curiosity into a genuine F3-grade prospect.

Formula 3

AIX Racing confirmed Barrichello for the 2025 F3 finale at Monza and for the full 2026 season. The 20-year-old made his official F3 debut at Monza, finishing 17th in the Sprint Race before retiring from the Feature Race — a quiet first taste of the category. For 2026 he became a full-time entry alongside Yevan David at AIX Racing, and showed encouraging early speed in pre-season, leading his team-mates on the timesheets during the Barcelona test and completing a team-best 187 laps across the three days, the kind of mileage and pace that signal a driver ready to make his rookie season count.
