Junior career

David Vidales (full name David Vidales Ajenjo) is a Spanish racing driver who came up through karting alongside future single-seater names. In November 2016 he took part in a Ferrari Driver Academy test, sharing the session with his Tony Kart team-mate Marcus Armstrong. He progressed through the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine, finishing tenth overall before stepping up to the FIA ladder.

Formula 3

Vidales contested the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Campos Racing, completing the Spanish team's line-up alongside Hunter Yeany and Josep María Martí. He made an immediate impact, taking a maiden victory in the sprint race at his home Circuit de Catalunya in May. It proved to be his only season in FIA Formula 3.

After F2/F3

At the end of 2022 Vidales tested a Super Formula car with B-Max Racing and moved to Japan, racing in Super Formula Lights, where he was a podium finisher. He was replaced at Campos by Christian Mansell. He later moved into sports-car and GT racing, competing in the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with AF Corse.
