Bruno del Pino is a Spanish racing driver from Barcelona competing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, and a nephew of former Formula 1 driver Pedro de la Rosa — racing blood that runs in the family.
The climb
Del Pino came up through CIK-FIA karting before making his Spanish F4 debut in 2022 with Drivex, the same year he claimed bronze representing Spain at the FIA Motorsport Games F4 Cup. The real momentum came in Eurocup-3 with MP Motorsport, where he matured fast: he took the rookie title in 2023, then a strong third overall in 2024 with three wins, eight podiums, a pole and three fastest laps. A brief, less successful side-step into Formula Regional gave him added mileage, and the Eurocup-3 form earned him an MP promotion to FIA Formula 3.
Formula 3
His rookie 2025 F3 season with MP Motorsport was a humbling one. There was a single highlight — a podium in the Imola sprint — but points were otherwise scarce, and he ended the year 23rd in the standings on just 16 points across 21 races, a campaign he has since admitted left him searching for answers over the winter.
2026 / current season
Del Pino reinvented himself for 2026 with a switch to Van Amersfoort Racing, lining up alongside Enzo Deligny and Hiyu Yamakoshi, and the transformation was immediate. He took his maiden FIA Formula 3 victory in the Melbourne season-opening sprint, heading a Van Amersfoort 1-2 ahead of Deligny in a race shortened by a Prema crash — a dream start that vindicated his switch after just three winter tests. Crucially, he then made it stick. Rather than the one-off flashes of his rookie year, del Pino scored in every race through the opening rounds, mixing it at the sharp end and adding a strong showing in the Monaco sprint. That consistency carried him up to second in the Drivers' Championship on 48 points heading into his home weekend at Barcelona, where Spanish support awaited. He says he feels 'a different driver compared to last season' — calmer, more complete — and the early results emphatically back it up, recasting him from struggling rookie to genuine title contender.
