The Story

O'Sullivan took pole at Silverstone, but it was Hadjar who lit up the Sprint. From fourth, he climbed past Maini and then Ushijima, reeling in early leader Martins after a safety car cleared the wreckage of a Charouz collision between Toth and Chovanec at Club. On the restart Hadjar hunted Martins down and went around the outside of Stowe in the closing laps to win, Martins second, Ushijima a fine third. He also set fastest lap. The Feature went to Leclerc, who took his first win of 2022 from second on the grid, beating polesitter O'Sullivan by under a second with Bearman third to head a PREMA-rich podium. Collet was fourth, Hadjar fifth. Colapinto was eliminated before the race with damage and never started; Correa fell out on the opening lap and Stanek retired with damage. Penalties hit Saucy and others, but the order at the front held. Crawford set fastest lap. Martins led the standings on 77 from Leclerc and Hadjar, the three covered by nine points in a tightening fight.
