AIX Racing

AIX Racing is one of the youngest names on the FIA Formula 2 and FIA Formula 3 grids, an Emirati-owned outfit that competes from a structure inherited through one of the junior single-seater paddock's more tangled lineages. The team as currently constituted dates only to May 2024, when the Dubai-based AIX Investment Group completed its buyout of the F2 and F3 operations of PHM Racing. Despite that recent rebrand, the entries themselves are older than the AIX name suggests, which is why F1pedia's records show seasons reaching back to 2023.

Origins

The lineage is worth tracing carefully, because the AIX name is new but the slots are not. The F2 and FIA F3 entries originated with the long-running Czech team Charouz Racing System. At the end of 2022, PHM Racing — the squad created by German entrepreneur Paul H. Müller — acquired Charouz's F2 and F3 entries and assets, running them through 2023 under the "PHM Racing by Charouz" banner from the former Charouz factory near Prague. For 2024 the team was renamed PHM AIX Racing, reflecting a sponsorship tie-up with the Dubai financial-services firm AIX Investment Group. That partner then went further: in May 2024, AIX Investment Group completed a full acquisition of the F2 and F3 structures, buying out Müller (who retained the separate F4 programme), and the team began competing simply as AIX Racing from the Imola rounds onward. So AIX did not enter as a brand-new constructor — it took over an existing entry whose history runs Charouz → PHM → PHM AIX → AIX.

Building in F2/F3

As a young team, AIX has been a points-scorer and occasional podium threat rather than a championship contender, and it holds no teams' titles. Under the PHM AIX/AIX banner in 2024, Taylor Barnard delivered an early sprint-race highlight, and Joshua Dürksen scored a feature-race podium at Imola. The driver roster has turned over quickly — a hallmark of a developing junior team — cycling more than twenty drivers across F2 and F3 in just a few seasons. Its grids have featured names with motorsport pedigree, including Britain's Cian Shields and, from 2026, Brazilian Emerson Fittipaldi of the celebrated Fittipaldi racing family, while the F3 side has run drivers such as Fernando Barrichello and Yevan David.

Identity

AIX Racing's identity sits at the intersection of European racecraft and Gulf investment: an operation built on a German-Czech engineering heritage but now flying the colours and ambitions of an Emirati ownership group. It is a team still writing its first chapters — finding its competitive level, building continuity, and converting flashes of podium pace into a sustained presence near the front of the feeder-series order.
