Zane Maloney (born 2 October 2003 in Bridgetown) is a Barbadian racing driver and the most successful single-seater driver his country has produced — the first Barbadian to win a race in both FIA Formula 3 and FIA Formula 2. A former Red Bull Junior Team member, he served as an F1 reserve and later moved into Formula E.
Formula 3
Maloney announced himself in the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Trident, taking three wins and finishing runner-up — losing the title by just five points. It was a breakthrough campaign that confirmed him as one of the most highly rated talents on the junior ladder.
Formula 2
He made his F2 debut at the end of 2022 with Trident at the Abu Dhabi finale, contesting two races without scoring. He returned for a full campaign in 2023 with Rodin Carlin, taking four podiums and tenth in the standings. His standout year came in 2024 with Rodin Motorsport: he won his maiden F2 race at the Sakhir sprint — becoming the first driver from Barbados and the Caribbean to win in the category — added a second victory, and battled Gabriel Bortoleto for the title before finishing runner-up, again narrowly beaten.
After F2/F3
Maloney was named Sauber/Stake F1 Team reserve driver for 2024 after a reserve stint with Red Bull. Late in 2024 he stepped away from his final F2 round to make his Formula E debut, moving to Lola Yamaha ABT for a full campaign in the all-electric championship.
