Taylor Barnard

Taylor Barnard is a British racing driver from Norfolk whose junior single-seater career ran in parallel with one of the fastest rises in Formula E history. He began karting at the age of seven, winning national and continental titles before stepping up to car racing in 2020.

Junior career

In ADAC Formula 4 he finished runner-up to Andrea Kimi Antonelli with PHM, and the pair renewed their rivalry in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship, where Barnard was again runner-up to the Italian. Those campaigns established him as one of the most highly rated drivers of his generation.

Formula 3

Barnard contested the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Jenzer Motorsport. After a slow start he transformed his form in the second half of the year, taking his maiden F3 win in mixed conditions in the Spa-Francorchamps Feature Race — Jenzer's first F3 victory since 2019 — with a decisive wet-tyre call. He finished 10th in the standings with 72 points and three podiums.

Formula 2 and Formula E

For 2024 he graduated to FIA Formula 2 with AIX Racing, winning the Monaco sprint race in a campaign frequently interrupted by his Formula E duties; he ended 21st overall. Signed by McLaren as reserve and development driver, Barnard made his Formula E debut at the 2024 Monaco ePrix deputising for the injured Sam Bird, becoming the youngest driver to start an ePrix. Promoted to a full race seat for 2024–25 alongside Bird, he scored a podium on debut in São Paulo and went on to become the youngest pole-sitter and youngest podium finisher in Formula E history, marking him out as a major talent.
