Santino Ferrucci (born 31 May 1998 in Woodbury, Connecticut) is an American racing driver who passed through the European single-seater ladder before finding his home in IndyCar. He raced in FIA Formula 3 European Championship (2014-2015) and the GP3 Series (2016-2017) with modest results, while serving as a test and reserve driver for the Haas F1 Team between 2016 and 2018 alongside Charles Leclerc.

Formula 2

Ferrucci contested FIA Formula 2 with Trident across 2017 and 2018. His debut campaign, joining mid-season, ended 22nd in the standings. His 2018 season became infamous: at Silverstone he was penalised for deliberate contact with team-mate Arjun Maini, drawing a four-race ban and a 60,000 euro fine, and was subsequently dropped by the team. An Italian court later ordered him to pay Trident more than 500,000 euros in damages, interest and costs. The episode effectively ended his European single-seater career.

After F2: IndyCar

Ferrucci rebuilt his reputation in North America. He debuted in IndyCar in 2018 with Dale Coyne Racing and took Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year honours in 2019. He has since become an Indy 500 specialist, finishing fourth in 2020, third in 2023 (the best Foyt result since 2000) and fifth in 2025. His best championship finish came in 2024 with ninth place and eleven top-ten finishes, and he races full-time for A. J. Foyt Enterprises. His F2 record is a footnote in a career that genuinely flourished elsewhere.
