Robert Visoiu (born 10 February 1996 in Pitesti) is a Romanian racing driver who spent the early 2010s climbing the GP3 and GP2/Formula 2 ladder. He remains one of the most prominent Romanian single-seater drivers of his generation, though without the championship results to match the billing.
GP3 Series
Visoiu contested three GP3 seasons. He finished 14th in 2012 with Jenzer Motorsport, then took a career highlight in 2013 with MW Arden, scoring two sprint-race wins to place 11th, racing alongside future F1 drivers Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz. A third GP3 campaign with Arden in 2014 brought 13th and a podium.
GP2 and Formula 2
He moved up to GP2 in 2015 with Rapax, finishing 17th, well behind his points-scoring team-mate Sergey Sirotkin. After a gap, he returned for the inaugural 2017 FIA Formula 2 season with Campos Racing. It proved a difficult campaign: he scored just one point and no podiums across 14 starts, finishing 24th, and left the championship before the Jerez round, replaced by Alex Palou.
Visoiu's career touched the top of the junior single-seater pyramid without converting into the consistent front-running form needed to progress further, and he stepped away from the category after 2017.
