Richard Verschoor (born 16 December 2000) is a Dutch racing driver who became one of the most experienced and successful competitors in the FIA Formula 2 era, holding the records for most starts (125) and equalling the all-time win mark with eight victories.
Junior career
Verschoor announced himself in 2016 by sweeping two Formula 4 titles in the same year, taking the SMP F4 Championship (11 wins) and the Spanish F4 Championship (17 wins). He moved through the Renault ladder, finishing on the podium in the Formula Renault Eurocup and twice featuring at the front of New Zealand's Toyota Racing Series (third in 2017, runner-up in 2018). In 2019 he made history as the first Dutch driver to win the prestigious Macau Grand Prix, taking victory at his first attempt.
Formula 3
Verschoor contested two FIA Formula 3 seasons with MP Motorsport, the team that had backed him through much of his junior career. He finished 13th in the 2019 standings and improved to ninth in 2020, scoring a podium but no wins.
Formula 2
Verschoor graduated to Formula 2 in 2021 with MP Motorsport, taking his maiden win that year. After ending a long association with MP he joined Trident for 2022, winning on his debut for the team and giving Trident its first second-tier victory since Luca Ghiotto in 2016. He spent 2023 with Van Amersfoort Racing (ninth) before returning to Trident and then MP late in 2024 (eighth). His standout campaign came in 2025: back with MP Motorsport, he scored four wins, took his eighth career victory in the Lusail Sprint Race to equal the all-time F2 record, and finished a career-best third in the championship.
