Pedro Estácio Leão Piquet Souto Maior (born 3 July 1998 in Brasília) is a Brazilian racing driver and the son of three-time Formula One World Champion Nelson Piquet; his older half-brother Nelson Piquet Jr. was the 2006 GP2 Series runner-up and a Formula 1 racer. Pedro carved out his own junior single-seater career rather than living solely under that name.
Junior career
Before Europe, Piquet was a multiple champion in Fórmula 3 Brasil, establishing himself as one of the country's leading prospects. He went on to become the only Brazilian to win races in both GP3 and its successor, the FIA Formula 3 Championship.
Formula 3
In the GP3 and FIA F3 eras Piquet was a race winner, a notable distinction for a Brazilian in those categories and the platform that earned him a step up to the championship.
Formula 2
For 2020 Piquet graduated to the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Charouz Racing System, partnering the experienced Louis Delétraz. He had set an early marker by topping the times in pre-season testing at Sakhir, Bahrain, as a rookie, underlining his raw pace even if the season's results did not match that promise in a midfield package.
After F2
After his single-seater years Piquet moved into sports-car and GT racing, continuing the Piquet name in motorsport without reaching Formula 1 himself.
