Overview
Muhammad Nabil Jan Al Jeffri (born 24 October 1993) is a Malaysian racing driver who competed in the 2017 FIA Formula 2 Championship with Trident, and who holds the distinction of being the first Malaysian to race in the GP2/Formula 2 category.
Junior career
Jeffri came up through Formula BMW, spending three years in that machinery, before three seasons at Formula 3 level. He made his GP2 Series debut in 2016 with Arden International, contesting the full 11-round, 22-race calendar and becoming the first Malaysian driver in the category. His rookie campaign yielded a single points finish, seventh in the sprint race at Barcelona.
Formula 2
When GP2 was rebranded as the FIA Formula 2 Championship for 2017, Jeffri moved to Trident alongside Sergio Canamasas. He again contested the full 22-race season, scoring two points with a career-best ninth place in a feature race. It proved to be his only F2 campaign.
After F2/F3
At the end of 2017 Jeffri left the single-seater ladder for sports cars. A one-off Asian Le Mans Series drive led to a full World Endurance Championship programme for the 2018-19 "Super Season" in LMP2 with the Jackie Chan DC Racing squad, and he continued in prototype and GT endurance racing thereafter. He never reached Formula 1.
