Lando Norris

Lando Norris is a British racing driver and McLaren Formula 1 race winner. Before his 2019 F1 debut, the McLaren junior tore through the junior ladder, taking the European Formula 3 title in 2017 and finishing runner-up in his single full FIA Formula 2 season in 2018.

Junior career and Formula 3

Norris was a serial champion as a teenager. In 2017 he raced full-time for Carlin in the FIA European Formula 3 Championship, dominating with nine wins, eight poles and twenty podiums from thirty races to clinch the title with two rounds to spare — his fifth racing championship in four years.

Formula 2

Fast-tracked to F2 for 2018, Norris partnered Sérgio Sette Câmara at Carlin. He won the opening feature race at Bahrain from pole and led the standings until midseason, when George Russell edged ahead. A double retirement at Sochi dropped him out of title contention, but he recovered to finish runner-up to Russell in the championship — enough, combined with his McLaren backing, to secure his Formula 1 seat for 2019.

Norris went on to a front-running F1 career with McLaren. The grounding's 'Rodin Motorsport' entry reflects the later rebranding of his F2 team's lineage; in period he raced under the Carlin banner.
