Jordan King (born 26 February 1994 in Warwick, England) is a British racing driver whose feeder-series career placed him on the edge of Formula 1 before he reinvented himself in sportscars and Formula E.

Junior career

King built his reputation in single-seaters with a standout 2013, when he won the British Formula 3 International Series title. He then moved up to GP2 (the championship rebranded as FIA Formula 2 in 2017), establishing himself as a quick and consistent front-runner over several seasons.

Formula 2

King contested the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2017 and again in 2019 with the Dutch squad MP Motorsport, having spent earlier GP2 seasons with the team and others. He was a genuine race-winner and qualifying threat at this level: he still holds two outright F2 lap records set during the 2017 campaign, at Spa-Francorchamps and at Monza, two of the fastest circuits on the calendar. His pace in the category earned him recognition as one of the more experienced and respected drivers in the F2 paddock.

Formula 1 and beyond

King's results in the feeder series brought him to the fringes of Formula 1. He was signed as a development driver by Manor Marussia for 2015 and retained by the renamed Manor Racing in 2016, making his F1 weekend debut by driving in free practice at the 2016 United States Grand Prix. He later held a simulator role with the Alpine F1 Team until 2021. When the F1 door did not open fully, King diversified, racing in IndyCar and IMSA sportscars, and moved into Formula E as a reserve and then race driver for Mahindra, making his Formula E debut at the 2024 Berlin ePrix.
