Jak Crawford

Jak Crawford (born 2 May 2005 in Charlotte, North Carolina) is an American racing driver and one of the most consistent products of the modern F1 feeder ladder, finishing runner-up in the 2025 FIA Formula 2 Championship.

Junior career

Crawford began karting at six and built an early reputation in North American series before moving to Europe. He was runner-up in the 2018-19 NACAM Formula 4 Championship with six wins, then in 2020 took five wins in the ADAC Formula 4 Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing, losing the title by two points to Jonny Edgar. In January 2020 he joined the Red Bull Junior Team, the academy that backed him through his single-seater climb.

Formula 3

Crawford stepped up to FIA Formula 3 in 2021 with Hitech Grand Prix, finishing 13th with one podium in a learning rookie year. He moved to PREMA Racing for 2022 and improved to seventh overall, taking one win and five podiums against a strong field.

Formula 2

He graduated to FIA Formula 2 in 2023 with Hitech, scoring a maiden win, a pole and five podiums on his way to 13th. For 2024 he switched to DAMS (running as DAMS Lucas Oil), partnering Juan Manuel Correa, and jumped to fifth in the standings with a win and six podiums. In November 2023, shortly before the F2 season finale, Crawford parted ways with the Red Bull Junior Team. His best campaign came in 2025: staying with DAMS, he won four races and took eight podiums to finish runner-up in the championship.

After F2/F3

Alongside his 2025 F2 title bid, Crawford served as reserve and test driver for the Aston Martin Formula 1 team, making Free Practice 1 outings during the season, keeping him firmly in the F1 conversation.
