Junior career
Gianluca Petecof is a Brazilian racing driver and former Ferrari Driver Academy member. His breakthrough came in 2020, when he won the Formula Regional European Championship in a three-way title fight against his Prema teammates Arthur Leclerc and Oliver Rasmussen, scoring five poles, four wins and 14 podiums on the way to the crown.
Formula 2
On the strength of that title, Campos Racing promoted Petecof straight to the FIA Formula 2 Championship for 2021, skipping FIA Formula 3 entirely. Around the same time he announced his departure from the Ferrari Driver Academy. He partnered the experienced Ralph Boschung at Campos but the jump proved steep, and his campaign was cut short - he left the team in June 2021, citing financial reasons, after a difficult opening to the year.
After F2
Petecof's single-seater career stalled after the abbreviated F2 season, and he subsequently moved towards other forms of racing. His FIA Formula 2 record is brief, but his 2020 Formula Regional European title - won against strong opposition - remains the standout result of his junior career.
