FrenchDorian Boccolacci is a French racing driver who reached the FIA Formula 2 Championship after a competitive spell in the GP3 Series.
GP3 and the step up
Boccolacci raced in GP3 with Trident, taking a maiden win in his first campaign to finish sixth in the standings and adding a second victory before the summer break in 2018. Those results earned him a call-up to Formula 2.
Formula 2
He made his F2 debut in 2018, joining MP Motorsport from the Spa feature race onward to replace Roberto Merhi. After a quiet start he improved over the remaining rounds, scoring two points finishes to end the partial campaign 21st in the championship.
For 2019 Boccolacci moved to Campos Racing, but the partnership was short-lived; he left the team after an early round and made a one-off return at Silverstone with Trident, the squad he had previously raced for in GP3. That brought his F2 involvement to a close.
