Junior career
David Alexander Beckmann is a German racing driver, born 27 April 2000, who came up through the European single-seater ranks. He raced in GP3 — partnering with Trident in 2018 — before the championship was succeeded by FIA Formula 3.
Formula 3
Beckmann moved to the new FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2019 with ART Grand Prix, but it was a tough year as the entire grid was outpaced by a dominant Prema, and he managed only 20 points. He returned to Trident for 2020 and produced a much stronger campaign, taking two wins and four further podiums to finish sixth overall in the standings.
Formula 2
He stepped up to FIA Formula 2 in 2021 with Charouz Racing System, claiming two podiums before being dropped mid-season; he switched temporarily to Campos Racing and ended the year 15th in the championship. His 2022 F2 involvement was limited, including a one-off return with Campos as a replacement at Monza.
After F2/F3
In February 2022 Beckmann was announced as test and reserve driver for the Avalanche Andretti Formula E team, taking his single-seater career into electric racing.
