Junior career
Dan Ticktum is a British racing driver who was a member of the Red Bull Junior Team from January 2017 and later the Williams Driver Academy. He won the Macau Grand Prix twice, in 2017 and 2018, marking himself out as one of the standout junior single-seater talents of his generation despite a reputation for controversy.
Formula 2
Ticktum first sampled Formula 2 at the start of 2018 in testing, deputising when DAMS' Nicholas Latifi was unavailable, before making his race debut for Arden in the season-ending Abu Dhabi round, finishing 11th. After a spell in Super Formula in 2019, he returned for a full F2 campaign in 2020 with DAMS, taking a maiden win and three further podiums to place 11th in his rookie season.
For 2021 he switched to Carlin (the British team later rebranded as Rodin), partnering Jehan Daruvala. It was his strongest F2 year: he took three victories — including a win on the streets of Monaco — and finished fourth in the championship standings.
After F2/F3
Ticktum did not reach Formula 1, but moved into Formula E, where he continued his single-seater career at the top level of electric racing.
